Personal Coaching
Physical Culture For A Life Well MovedPractice is a privilege, never a chore.
Coaching is offered in kettlebells and traditional physical culture from my home in the village of Lower Quinton, overlooking the edge of the Cotswolds, or within my fully equipped garage dojo. I work with people who accept the journey as part of the progress, I don’t rescue inconsistency.
Skill, Rhythm and flow – movement for Body and Mind.
Discover an approach designed to build strength, coordination and resilience through kettlebells, Persian meels, Indian clubs, Indian gada, Rope Flow and speedbag, with every session centered on technique, rhythm and flow. The result is a body that moves with power, control, and ease – energised, calm and ready for life.

Principles of Practice
- Enjoyment is the secret to consistency
- Don’t put life on hold; now is the time to practice
- Never force a session; participate and flow
- Drill the basics;Ā advanced results are just the basics, repeated and progressed
- Curiosity, refinement and small discoveries every session
- Rhythm before speed, relaxation before force
- Circular movement over linear strain
- Consistency matters more than motivation or intensity
- Knowing is not understanding, you must do
- Practice with nature;Ā train outside as much as possible
- Leave every practice calmer, more capable and wanting to return tomorrow
- Practice with purposeĀ then finish with peace
- Love is the energy thatĀ sustains lifelong practice: a love of movement, learning, the outdoors and the journey
The Behavioural Cost
The part that actually produces the results is the unglamorous bit:
- Repeating the basics
- Showing up when it’s inconvenient
- Not needing novelty to stay engagedĀ
- Mastery isn’t one great session, it’s what happens when you keep practising.Ā
Fruits of Practice
Strength without skill is limited. Skill without consistency fades. Practice both and movement becomes a companion.
- Calm focus and clarity, energised and uplifted
- Greater coordination and timing
- Relaxation under load, replacing strength with skill
- Breath and movement in harmony with a deeper sense of rhythm
- Precision without force, consistency without strain
- Resilient joints and connective tissue
- Moments of effortless flow, where timing replaces effort
- Capability that extends beyond practice into everyday life
- Transcendence through movement
- The more skilfull you become, the more there is to discover
The Joy of ‘The Click’
One of my favourite things about practice is when something small suddenly starts to click.
A Rope Flow pattern, the path of a meel, or the timing of a kettlebell snatch; something that has felt awkward suddenly makes sense.
Nothing dramatic has happened, just a small moment of clarity: “Ah… that’s it!”.
To someone else it might look like a tiny improvement, to the person practicing it’s a breakthrough.
This is why practice remains fresh, there is always something new to discover.
That’s one of the reasons I love coaching and personal practice, there is always something to discover, refine and understand.
The practice is the journey and those little moments of clarity are the rewards.
