Personal Coaching

Physical Culture For A Life Well Moved

Practice is a privilege, never a chore.

Coaching is offered in kettlebells and traditional physical culture from my home in the village of Lower Quinton, overlooking the edge of the Cotswolds, or within my fully equipped garage dojo. I work with people who accept the journey as part of the progress, I don’t rescue inconsistency.

Skill, Rhythm and flow – the Long Game Advantage for Body and Mind.
Discover an approach designed to build strength, coordination, and resilience that lasts a lifetime, using a combination of kettlebells, Persian meels, Indian clubs, Indian gada, and movement mastery, where every session focuses on technique, rhythm, and flow. The result is a body that moves with power, control, and ease — energised, calm, and ready for life today and decades from now.

Principles of Practice

  • Enjoyment is the secret to long-term consistency
  • Train for the decades ahead, not just today’s session
  • Don’t force a session – participate, practice and flow
  • Practice the basics – advanced results are just the basics, repeated and progressed
  • Curiosity, refinement and small discoveries every session
  • Rhythm before speed, relaxation before force
  • Circular movement over linear strain
  • Don’t chase reps, chase the rhythm
  • Consistency matters more than motivation or intensity
  • Knowing is not understanding, you must do
  • Practice with nature, not apart – train outside as much as possible
  • Leave every practice calmer, more capable and wanting to return tomorrow
  • Practice with purpose, finish with peace
  • Love is the energy that sustains lifelong practice: a love of movement, learning, the outdoors and the journey

The Behavioural Cost

The part that actually produces the results is the unglamorous bit:

  • Repeating the basics
  • Showing up when it’s inconvenient
  • Not needing novelty to stay engaged
  • Mastery isn’t built in a few great sessions, it’s built in thousands of ordinary ones

Fruits of Practice

Strength without skill is limited. Skill without consistency fades. Practice both, and movement becomes a lifelong companion.

  • Calm focus and clarity, energised and uplifted
  • Greater coordination and timing
  • Relaxation under load, replace strength with skill
  • Breath and movement in harmony and a deeper sense of rhythm
  • Precision without force, consistency without strain
  • Resilient joints and connective tissue
  • Moments of effortless flow, where timing replaces effort
  • The more skilfull you become, the more there is to discover
  • Capability that extends beyond practice into everyday life
  • Transcendence through movement
