Meet Maddie 🐈:

Rumali Indian Dumbbell Swings have become an enjoyable addition to my physical culture practice.

Although they use dumbbells rather than traditional clubs, the movement shares the same flowing rhythm found in Persian meels and Indian gada. To me, Rumali feel like the lower half of meel swinging, linking powerful hip movement with smooth circular patterns.

They’re about developing coordination, work capacity, grip strength and whole-body rhythm through continuous movement.

Practice, flow and remember to enjoy the journey.

And, of course, no practice is complete without Maddie making an appearance. She has a habit of wandering in to inspect the movement, before deciding that restoration is probably the more sensible option. 🐈😺
