Some days just seem to gather momentum.

Today started with Indian clubs and Persian meels in the morning garden practice; alternating club swings, heavier meel work and three rounds of three-count meels gradually built into a long, flowing session before finishing with a mixture of outer swings, club singles and four-count meels.

Then came 90 minutes of pickleball, resulting in three wins, a draw and two losses, so the scoreboard was nicely balanced. ๐Ÿ˜„

After a short reset, it was back into the garden.

Persian meels and Indian gada took centre stage, building through 6kg, 8kg and finally 10kg meels, with the 9kg gada appearing between the heavier meel sets as a kind of reset before the next round.

The equipment was all lined up on the grass and for a while it looked less like a garden and more like a physical culture playground.

Maddie, meanwhile, had found a completely different way to participate.
She had taken up residence in the raised bed, apparently supervising the garden practice from ground level, her physical culture seems to involve considerably more sitting than mine. ๐Ÿˆ

The evening moved into the dojo for kettlebells:

Swing-to-cleans, swing-to-snatches and then five rounds of 20kg swing-to-snatch paired with six-count burpees. Five rounds, 28 kettlebell reps each time, with 40 burpees in total.

A final burst of kettlebell work and single-arm swings brought the main practice to an end and by now the legs were definitely feeling yesterday’s sprawls and uchikomi, today’s pickleball and the evening burpees.
But the conditioning was excellent and recovery was still quick and there was one more thing left to do.

Yoga on the decking as darkness fell, with the outdoor lights illuminating the practice space.ย

Clubs, Meels, Gada. Pickleball, Kettlebells, Burpees and Yoga:

A pretty epic day of physical culture.

And tomorrow?
We’ll see what wants to move. ๐Ÿงก
